A funeral for 6-month-old Jonylah Watkins is being held in Chicago’s Hyde Park neighborhood Tuesday.
She was shot and killed on the 6500 block of South Maryland on March 11, 2013
Watkins was sitting on her father lap when the gunman approached and opened fired.
Jonylah survived a single bullet entering her shoulder and several organs before exiting through her lower body, but died the next morning following emergency surgery.
family and friends lined up at leak and sons funeral home to lay her to rest.
A 3 foot 6 inch casket open with a pink bear inside was the viewing.
police say they believe the father of Johnathan was a targeted by a rival gang member.
no arrest have been made.
